I don’t care what people say, the Gameboy Micro was a very cool system. Yeah, I probably don’t want to play all of Golden Sun on a 1 inch screen, but it’s probably the only handheld gaming system that doesn’t feel bulky in my pocket. Even the Gameboy Pocket is rather bulky to actually be carrying in a pocket (dammit Gameboy Pocket, you had ONE job…) Anyway, I finally got my hands on a replacement faceplate for my Gameboy Micro from Rose Colored Gaming, and I can finally retire my old scratched silver one!
If you haven’t seen Rose Colored Gaming’s console mods, I recommend checking them out. They make some of the most gorgeous systems I’ve ever seen, and I’m glad to be treating my Gameboy Micro to one of their faceplates!
My Gameboy Micro’s faceplate was pretty scuffed up, and there were definitely some distracting scratches on it. However, faceplates are very collectable and have become expensive online, so I’m glad that someone has figured out how to make affordable replacements.
I love the idea of faceplates on game systems, and this replacement turned out great! Speaking of faceplates, it sure would be awesome if North America got the New 3DS with removable faceplates, wouldn’t it!
